Netbook Reflection

Hi my name is Candice and this is my Netbook Reflection for 2012.  I am a year seven at Panmure Bridge School.

Positive:
The things I found Positive this year on my Netbook were posting work up on our blogs, working on study ladder, commenting on other peoples blogs, our teacher can also send us fun activities, we can create amazing presentations, it’s easier for or teacher to check our work, sharing images on our blog.

Negative:

The things that I found Negative on my Netbook this year was people play games and listen to music when they are not supposed to, people go on chat, and what I think is so annoying is that we sometimes have slow internet, it’s so easy for people to go off task and to go on sites they are not supposed to.

Unusual:
Things that this year I found unusual was shortcuts, the kinds of font are different, our presentations are unusual but in a good way, and the different kinds of things on the internet I have found unusual.

Julie

Julie at my school
reckons she can
see ghosts through glass.
She also talks to them
and spooks everyone out!

My Mum

Her hair is straight
like paper.

Her eyes are two dark
green leaves.

I think my mum’s the most
awesomest and kindest
mum in the world.

I love
her so much,
just like she
loves me!

A Girls Head

In it is a magical unicorn
and a project
for doing away with cleaning the dishes.

And there is
a horse
which shall be first.

And there is
world peace,
more loving and caring people,
and amazing creatures.

There is a laddie
with a pig’s head.

And there is a flower.

There is anticipation.

And it can not be held back.

I believe
that only what cannot be held back
is a head.

There is much promise
in the circumstance
that so many people have heads.

The amazing smiles at wood tech!

This is my class and I taking a photo because it is our last day at wood tech! Wood tech was so fantastic and fun.  I made a chopper, mine is the one in front with the green knob on top! I can't wait to do wood tech again! Mr Thomas was a great teacher at Tamaki College.

My Tui Report

What has black feathers and a white tuft under its chin? Well if you haven't guessed already it is a bird, a Tui. In spring, birds may travel outside their normal territory to feed. Tuis usually fly to places with good supplies of nectar. Tuis like open country and gardens. They live in a forest and scrub. So if you want to see a Tui they are usually found in New Zealand and offshore islands. Tuis are usually the first to be singing in the morning. They have a wide range of notes. Their calls are bell-like notes, croaks, coughs, and also squeaks. Tuis are most likely to eat berries, fruits, insects, and nectar. The young Tui get feed tiny insects and nectar but only for the first few days. The slightly older chicks get fed berries, moths, spiders and also large insects, they especially like stick insects. November and December is the only nesting seasons. It takes 2 weeks for a Tui’s egg to hatch. Tuis usually lay 2 to 4 eggs. Parents often move to offshore islands to have their chicks.

I asked the little boy who cannot see!

I asked the little boy who cannot see, ‘And what is colour like?’ ‘Why, red,’ said he, ‘Is like the strawberries that I tast that are red sweet and juicy. I feel the yellow scrunchy sponge that sits on the bathroom tub, And blue is like a waterfall; hearing the pristine water falling. And pink is smelling flower petals on the dining room table. Purple is the feel of the slippery soap that smells like beautiful violets And orange is the taste of freshly made sweet orange juice; The colour green is lying outside with the soft fresh grass pressing towards my tummy.’ Candice

My Reflective Learning Journal

One thing I learnt this week was... more about the parts of speech.

I was learning  this because... it will help me later on in life. Also it helps us with our writing and spelling.

I know I have learnt this because... when I did do this I got more right than last time.

A question I now have is... what is a preposition.

Next week I need to work on... antonyms.

The best activity of the week was... doing  jump-jam
because...it got me ready for the day.

A Day Out At Rainbow's End!

When we were on the motor way  I could see the fear fall!  It was my first time going to Rainbow’s end.  Finally we pulled up in the car park it was so cool and I was so excited!  We all went and paid and one of the staff slapped one green band on all four of us then Taylor (my brother ) Ashely (my brothers girlfriend), Mikailah( my niece)  and I went on our walk to check out all of the rides.

The first ride we went on was the pirate ship, Mikailah is three years old so she could go on it. Next we all went and had a look at the fear fall but it looked too scary for me so I didn’t go on till later on. We went to the family karts next and Ashley drove me and my brother Taylor drove Mikailah around the kart course.  You have to go around twice (two laps) it was cool my head was going from side to side!

Next we went to the gold rush it was a long line to wait in but then finally the line ended and it was our turn to go on.  There was two in a seat and two carriages joined together, so Mikailah and I were in the seat in front and Taylor and Ashley were in the carriage at the back.  It was pretty scary because you go to turn a corner but it quickly goes the other way and this carriage was going towards us, then it went the other way, it was scary!

After we hopped off the carriage we all went to another place and that was the log-floom.  We saw all this stuff on the way and when we were coming down the slide in the log and I got splashed, it was cool! After that Taylor, Ashley, Mikailah and I went to my favourite ride the invader.  First Taylor and Ashley went on while I waited with Mikailah because she is too little to come on. So after they had their turn I went on with Taylor.  It was my my first time so it was pretty scary, and when you get to the top your stomach dropped completely!

Then we went to the power-surge and I felt nervous.  I hopped on with my brother and it went round a few times and upside down and when I got off I felt really dizzy.  So that was definitely my last time going on that!  It was my least favourite ride in the whole park.

Next it was the ultimate, the Roller coaster and it was cool.  It went extremely fast and it was over in like 5 minutes! Afterwards we had some lunch.  I had some hot chips and a ice-cream, a caramel one in a cone, yum. I went on many rides after lunch and had lots of fun it was the best day EVER!!!

Know Someone Who Can...

I know someone who can
throw a chip in the air and then catch it in her mouth.
I know someone who can
type so fast that she can almost do it with out looking.
I know someone who can
swim the whole length of a pool.
I know someone who can
hold their breath under the water for 37 seconds.
I know someone who can
rub there stomach and tap there head at the same time.
I know someone who can
read a whole chapter book in 3 hours.
I know someone who can
skip with a skipping rope for 6 minutes and 10 seconds.
I know someone who can
drink a litre of water non stop.
I know someone who can
drink a whole can of coke and get real hypo.
I know some one who can
do the bendy bridge on there back
I know someone who can scream so loud that I can pop my ear drums.
And that someone is
ME!
